The Occupational Driver's License in Texas
His speech covered the following issues and outlined methods by which an occupational license can be obtained:
- Suspensions requiring occupational license
- The Texas Transportation Code rules
- How to file a petition
- Potential problems before and after
- Commercial driver's licenses, out-of-state licenses, people with no license
The one-day seminar was held on September 26, 2014 in the Central Jury Room of the Bexar County Justice Center. This marked the third year in a row that Attorney John J. Fox has been asked to speak at the seminar, which is designed primarily to be a nuts & bolts seminar for newly licensed attorneys.
Continuing legal education (CLE) is professional education of lawyers that occurs after an attorney's initial admission to the bar. In many states, CLE participation is required of attorneys in order to maintain their license to practice law. CLE activities are offered throughout the year by state bar associations, local organizations such as the San Antonio Black Lawyers Association, and by national legal organizations such as the American Bar Association.
In addition to the SABLA, Attorney John J. Fox has lectured at various CLE seminars on behalf of various legal organizations, including the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the San Antonio Legal Secretaries Association.
